Vicki On Vinted
Selling Online since 2001
Endless Inventory β’ No Tariffs β’ Ready to Ship
Well... I learned something new today! π
It's end of July, 2026, yesterday I listed my very first item on Vinted, an old Harley-Davidson long-sleeve shirt that had become a little too snug for me but was still in great condition.
Within an hour, I had two offers!
I accepted the highest offer of $7 and thought, "Wow... that was easy!"
Then... nothing.
No payment.
This morning I noticed the shirt was still showing as available for sale, which confused me. I assumed accepting an offer meant the item was sold.
Turns out, that's not how Vinted works.
Here's what I learned:
βοΈ A buyer can send an offer.
βοΈ You can accept it.
But the item isn't sold until the buyer actually completes the purchase and pays.
Until then, your listing stays active, and someone else can still buy it. Coming from eBay, where accepted offers usually lead directly to a sale, this was definitely a surprise!
I actually like this system. It keeps inventory moving and doesn't tie up your items waiting for someone who may never pay. Good to remember should I make an offer on someone else's item.
I'm going to keep experimenting with Vinted because I think it's going to be a great place for:
- clothing
- unique one-of-a-kind finds
- household items
- and all those things that aren't quite worth listing on eBay but are still too good to let go.
For me, Vinted may become the last stop before the donation box.
I'm already stocked up with shipping supplies, and if you know me, you know I seem to have an endless supply of merchandise to sort through! π
I'll keep sharing what I learn along the way. If you've used Vinted before, I'd love to hear your best tips and tricks!

Your Second Chance Journey Starts Here
I created this guide because I believe almost every home has hidden treasures waiting to be discovered. As I sort through my own closets, basement, and memories, I'll be sharing what I find, what sells, what surprises me and what I've learned along the way.
If you'd like to follow the adventure and maybe discover a few treasures in your own home, I invite you to join me over on the Picture It Here Facebook page. We'll celebrate great finds, share selling tips, laugh at the occasional mistakes, and encourage each other to give forgotten items a second chance.
Because sometimes the best treasure isn't what you buy...
It's what you almost gave away.
